South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) agents today arrested a Richland County businessman and charged him with six counts of tax evasion.
Ronnie L. Dozier, 53, of Hopkins, operated Intimate Elements, LLC in Richland County. From 2016 through 2021, Dozier’s firm made more than $3.7 million in gross sales. Though Dozier collected Sales Tax, he failed to remit any of the the tax to the SCDOR. During the same time period, Dozier operated without a state retail license and used several bank accounts to conceal his purchases, according to the warrants. He owes the state a total of $224,052 in Sales Tax.
If convicted, Dozier faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000 per count, plus the cost of prosecution. He is being held in the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
